An Oconto woman reimbursed $77,944.81 she embezzled from her former employer and was placed on two years of probation Dec. 7 in Oconto County Circuit Court.

Carrie Anderson, 42, pleaded no contest two four misdemeanor counts of theft in a business setting for taking money while she was employed as a bookkeeper for K.W. Rusch Inc., a trucking company owned by Oconto Falls Alderperson Kevin Rusch, in 2016 and 2017. She was charged in April with three felonies and one misdemeanor.

Judge Jay N. Conley ordered Anderson to spend 90 days in the county jail and perform 100 hours of community service as conditions of her probation, in addition to the restitution — which has been paid in full — and various court costs.
